About Me

Here at Robert S Cooper Photography, we let our passion for photographic excellence shine through in every image we provide to you. I specialize in commercial and editorial photography with 20 years of experience as a photojournalist in Georgia and Florida. I love working with people and have a special passion for classic portraiture. I favor an approach that hearkens back to the work of the great pictorialists and the masters in old Vanity Fair magazines. My camera is a tool and with it, I try to capture the interplay between the subject and myself. I try to keep it simple, and so far, it is working.

In 2012, I moved back to my hometown, Savannah, GA, and am enjoying my freelance business here. I love this land, this part of the country. Georgia and the Carolina Lowcountry are in my DNA. I spend a lot of time outdoors and do about100 shoots each year on Hilton Head and Tybee Island and in the Savannah area. I love photographing houses and people. I do a bunch of professional headshots every week. It never gets old.

In 2017, I began offering aerial drone services and have gotten to do some interesting work from above. I have done several jobs for the Savannah Morning News, both stills and video for their online presence. I have been called upon to do aerial documentation of part of the water system for Hilton Head Island. I never know who is on the other end of the line when the phone rings.
